Migraines are the result of severe vasoconstriction (tightening of
blood vessels and veins) followed by sudden vasodilatation (release of
restricted blood in the veins). The pressure exerted by blood against
the vessel walls causes excruciating pain. The cause of the blood
vessels restricting and releasing are still widely unknown. This can
make the treatment of migraines difficult.

Whats the Difference?
Ever wonder what the difference is between a deep tissue massage and a sports massage? When you go to book an appointment and your therapist asks you if you'd prefer one or the other, do you freeze for a second before answering, "uh....Sports?" Well, wonder no more! Here it is; the long and the short of it!
A few good words to know when considering massage-

Fennel persuades us to live in integrity with ourselves regardless of the disapproval or possible judgments of other people. Fennel re-ignites our passion for life and willingness to fully own the consequences of our choices. Place a drop under the tongue after meals. Emotions Addressed: Lack of Desire, Unwilling to Take Responsibility for Self/Life, Weak Sense of "Self"

Your allergies are driving you crazy, but you really don't like to take conventional medications. Or maybe you've tried over-the-counter allergy meds-or even prescription ones-but you're not getting the relief you need. What else might work? Consider these alternative options:
1. Saline Nasal Rinse
This is one remedy that both Eastern and Western docs will likely agree on. Basically all you're doing is flushing out your sinuses with a saltwater solution, which can help wash away allergens and irritants.
2. Cool-Mist Humidifier
You might be tempted to pack up the humidifier now that spring is here, but hold off! When it's still a little cool at night and indoor humidity is low, using...

It Changes Gene Expression and Reduces Inflammation
What's the News: If you've ever been told been that a massage is good for "releasing toxins"-or to sound m ore scientific, "lactic acid"-from your muscles, then you've been told wrong. Turns out muscle cells do like a good massage, but it has nothing to do with lactic acid.
In the first study on the cellular effects of massage post-exercise, researchers found that massage bolsters chemical signals reducing inflammation and promoting repair of muscle cells.
How the Heck:
Strenuous exercise actually tears your muscle fibers; that's why an intense workout can leave you sore for days. (Don't worry-it's normal and it generally heals fine.) The researchers wanted to study how massage affects this muscle damage, so they made 11 healthy young men cycle to the point of exhaustion....
