I have been a Certified Massage Therapist for over 6 years. In expanding my massage training, I found Thai Massage. This profound modality has given me the ability to treat my clients on a whole, new level. Thai Massage is now a fundamental aspect of my massage practice. I have trained under Hillary Olsen Hilliard, founder of the Textured Motion style of Thai Massage. I have been practicing Thai Massage for over 3 years now and am very excited and honored to begin teaching this modality to others.

As a massage therapist I had the tremendous privilege to assist Hillary in the development of Thai for the Table. TFT (Thai for the Table) is an amazing introduction and a clever modification of the traditional Thai Massage style. TFT was created to be more accessible for current massage therapists, bodyworkers, personal trainers, physical therapists, and nurses who would like to incorporate different techniques and different layers of awareness into their current practice on the table and who also would like to first experience Thai Massage before taking the full 50-hour training program.

Class Descriptions

Thai for the Table
Introductory - 2 days - 16 CE - $350
Prerequisit: Licensed Massage Therapist

TFT (Thai for the Table) is an amazing introduction and a clever modification of the Traditional Thai Yoga Massage style. TFT was created to be more accessible for current massage therapists and bodyworkers  to incorporate different techniques and different layers of awareness into their current practices on the table and who would like to first experience Thai Massage before taking the full 50-hour training program.

We will touch on the history and theory of traditional Thai massage, as well as focusing on the therapist's ergonomics on the table-how to use body weight and leaning pressure to administer deeper pressure with the most ease. The student will have enough knowledge to give a 60 - 90 min TFT session.

Introduction to Traditional Thai Massage
Introductory - 2 Days - 16CE- $350
No Prerequisit

Introduction to Traditional Thai Massage is a wonderful initiation and first encounter with the amazing, healing art of Thai Massage. This introductory workshop was created for those that wish to first experience aspects of Thai Massage before they decide to take the full 50-hour training program. This workshop is different from the TFT workshop, in that we work in a traditional style, on a Thai mat on the floor. The therapists' ergonomics are very different as the participant transitions from TFT to Traditional Thai Massage on a mat.

Even though no prerequisites are required for our Level 1 course, we recommend those that are new to this modality, new to bodywork, and/or would like a 2-day introduction to the flow, body mechanics, and the rhythm, stay open to taking this 2-day introduction. We find that our students that have taken this introductory workshop, fair better and learn faster in Levels 1, 2, and 3. The participant will learn a specific Supine and Prone sequence and will be able to give a 60 - 90 min Thai Massage after the 2-day workshop.

Level 1: Traditional Thai Massage
Introductory - 6 Days - 50 Hours / 36CE - $900 (Manual additional $25)
Prerequisit: None, reccomend TFT or Introduction to Thai

Level 1: Traditional Thai Massage enables each person to give a 120 - 150 minute Thai Massage in the Supine, Prone, Abdominal, and Inverted positions. Along with learning an organized and detailed sequence, we will review the history and roots of Traditional Thai Massage, Thai energy lines, ergonomics for the therapist, and also focus on grounding, centering, and breathing techniques. The participant will learn the oceanic rhythm and dance-like flow that is synonymous with this healing art. Level 1 would be a perfect addition and a new layer of awareness to bring to a current massage, yoga, acupuncture, or energy work practice. We will also have 14 hours of weekly, documented practice hours that will need to be submitted by each student and then reviewed and graded by the instructor.

Level 2: Traditional Thai Massage
6 Days - 50 Hours/ 36CE - $900 (Manual additional $25)
Prerequisit: Level 1 Traditional Thai Massage

Level 2: Traditional Thai Massage introduces the Side-Lying and Seated positions, along with an in-depth study of the Sen Sib lines (the Thai energy lines) and a pragmatic approach to synthesizing client sessions. The Sen Sib have already been introduced and utilized in Level 1, and in Level 2 we will learn how each line runs, where it originates and ends, and how to specifically work one particular line during therapeutic sessions. We will also have a workshop about the connection between the Chinese meridian lines and acupressure points and the Thai Sen Sib lines and points, as well as connecting the Indian Prana Nadis and Marma points. The student will have enough knowledge to offer therapeutic Thai Massage sessions, honing in on clients' specific needs. We will also have 14 hours of weekly, documented practice hours that will need to be submitted by each student and then reviewed and graded by the instructor.

Level 3: Traditional Thai Massage - RTT designation
Self- Paced - 80 Hours - $500 (all worksheets included)
Prerequisit: Level 1 & Level 2: Traditional Thai Massage

If you wish to further your Thai Massage studies and have the THAI-approved designation of RTT, Registered Thai Therapist, we have a program that will guide you through the necessary hours and requirements. For the Practitioner level, the minimum requirements are 180 hours of formal documented study of Thai Massage, plus a minimum of 50 documented practice sessions that are between 90 minutes and 2 hours in length. The initial 180 hours of study must be completed within a maximum period of three years, and a minimum of one year must transpire from the date of your first study of Thai Massage.

After completing Levels 1 & 2 the student will know enough techniques to give a FIVE HOUR SESSION!! However,  it is difficult to find people with enough time to receive such a long session. This course is geared towards the student who wants to transition to the professional level and learn how to take this knowledge and break it down into practical pieces.  For example, when a client comes to a session with lumbar pain, you will learn and practice the art of selecting techniques for treating this condition in the 60, 90 and 120 minute time frames of a standard therapeutic session. After this guided, self-study, the student will feel confident to work with many different conditions within various time frames.

Along with working with 4 different case studies and completing various homework assignments that will deepen your knowledge and comfort level with working on the Sen Sib lines, there will be 4 private sessions (each 90-minutes) with one of our instructors or teaching assistants, so that you can hone your therapeutic techniques with each case study. The participant will be required to receive two 120-minute Thai massages from one of our qualified therapists and teaching assistants (cost not included in course cost). There will also be required assignments and reading, as well as Thai Medical research and 4 typed essays on the findings of each case study.
